BACKGROUND
The City Council began canceling the second meeting in November last year due to the Thanksgiving holiday falling on the same week. This year, the timing of the second meeting and the Thanksgiving holiday are similar. As a result, staff recommends canceling the second meeting in November to avoid hosting a meeting the same week as Thanksgiving.
OVERVIEW
Due to the Christmas holiday falling the week after the regularly scheduled meeting, the City Council will have two meetings in December this year on the regularly scheduled meeting dates of December 3 and December 17, 2018.

RECOMMENDATION
Cancel the November 19, 2018 City Council combined meeting.
BACKGROUND
The City of Sachse has participated in this program since Fiscal Year 2002-2003. Sachse residents can visit the disposal facility and drop off acceptable items. Several surrounding municipalities in Dallas County also participate in this program.
OVERVIEW
The City has the option to renew this agreement on/by October 1 of each year through the approval of the attached amendment. The City has the option to withdraw at any time from the agreement without cause, provided that it has notified the other party in writing at least sixty (60) days prior to its intended withdrawal date. The City last renewed this agreement for Fiscal Year 2017-2018 with the option to renew for the next four years of a five year contract. This is the first amendment to that agreement.
There have been no major changes to the agreement.

RECOMMENDATION
Approve the renewal of an Interlocal Agreement between Dallas County and the City of Sachse for Household Hazardous Waste Disposal Services for Fiscal Year 2018-2019.
BACKGROUND
The Finance Department prepares a report each month to update the City Council regarding revenues and expenditures for the City. Included in the report are unaudited summaries for the General Fund, Utility Fund, Debt Service Fund, and the Sachse Economic Development Corporation, as well as an analysis of sales tax revenues received year-to-date.
POLICY CONSIDERATIONS
The City Charter requires that the City Manager submit a monthly report covering revenues and expenditures.
RECOMMENDATION
Accept the monthly revenue and expenditure report for the period ending August 31, 2018.
BACKGROUND
On September 10, at around 5:30 p.m., representatives from the Sachse Police Department and the Sachse Fire Department responded to a call regarding a choking infant. Call Taker Sarah Tristan provided CPR instructions to the mother and father and kept them calm during this emergency while Dispatcher Jack Cottongame immediately dispatched units. Officer James Glover arrived on scene, assisted the mother with CPR, and carried the child to the ambulance as it arrived. In the back of the ambulance, the Firefighter EMT-Paramedics (Fullen, Haynes, Hood, Cave and Duncan) worked as a team to assist the child in clearing obstruction. As they were en route to the hospital, the team was able to stop the choking and the child's condition greatly improved.

The MDD Board has met twice since its establishment by the City Council. The first meeting was held on Thursday, August 2 and the second meeting was held on Thursday, September 6. At the September 6 MDD meeting, the Board recommended to City Council the use of MDD funds to complete as many of the following park projects within the approved MDD fiscal year 2018-2019 budget of $404,172.49. Projects include inclusive playground structures at Firefighters Park, a sand volleyball court (location TBD), Dave Sanford Park playground replacement, Joe & Patricia Stone Park playground replacement, Salmon Park shelter rehabilitation, Cornwall Lane Park playground replacement, and Joe & Patricia Stone Park playground/pavilion lighting.
OVERVIEW
The Parks and Recreation Department will continue to move forward in meeting with vendors on these projects and obtain quotes to determine costs. This is an extensive list of projects that will require various types of contract work. Staff will solicit for estimates, however some of these projects are specialized and may require specific vendors. Staff expects to have bids for most of these projects by the end of the 2018 calendar year and anticipates projects to be underway in early spring, with estimated completion by the end of the Summer 2019.
