BACKGROUND
The existing Sable Hills Lift Station was installed in the early 1960s, in conjunction with the Sable Hills Estates development, which was platted in 1961. The service area for the existing lift station was recently expanded to provide service for new lots developing in the Sable Hills Estates addition.
OVERVIEW
The existing lift station requires an upgrade in operating capacity to meet demands of the increased wastewater flows. This project will also update the lift stations wet wells, vaults, provide backup power, increased site security and meet all current standards as required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).

RECOMMENDATION
Authorize the City Manager to execute a contract for professional services for the design of the Sable Hills Lift Station improvements between the City of Sachse and Birkhoff, Hendricks and Carter, LLP in the amount of one-hundred twenty-three thousand five-hundred and zero cents ($123,500.00). This is a project that is included for funding in the Utility Fund budget.
BACKGROUND
At the request of the Planning and Zoning Commission, staff brought forward zoning ordinance items for discussion at the Planning and Zoning Commission's October 19, 2020 meeting.
Staff presented the Commission's recommendations at the February 1, 2021, City Council Workshop, where the Council agreed with the recommendations provided by the Planning and Zoning Commission.

BACKGROUND
Bailey Road was originally built as a two-lane asphalt street serving a large (estate) lot subdivision. Additional developments have occurred around this area increasing usage and traffic. Bailey Road does serve as a connection between SH 78 and Sachse Road.
OVERVIEW
The last major repair was an overlay in the 1990s. The longevity of the overlay has expired and now cannot be sustained by small patching and maintenance. Staff is looking for discussion and direction on design of this project.
