UNFORTUNATELY, WE DO HAVE A HUNGER PROBLEM IN NORTH TEXAS AND QUITE FRANKLY, AROUND THE COUNTRY AND SO WE WANT TO DO OUR PART TO HELP WITH THAT AND ONE OF THE FUN THINGS WE DO IS THE PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE AND SO WE ARE GOING TO KICK THAT OFF OFFICIALLY TONIGHT WITH A PROCLAMATION AND I KNOW CATHERINE WILL WANT TO SAY A FEW WORDS, I'M SURE.
THEY PARTNER WITH FIVE LOAVES HERE IN SACHSE TO HELP WITH OUR FOOD DISTRIBUTION.

WHEREAS HUNGER ACTION MONTH WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2008 BY FEEDING AMERICA AND WORKS TO PROMOTE WAYS FOR INDIVIDUALS, ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITIES EVERYWHERE TO GET INVOLVED AND HELP FIGHT THE HUNGER CRISIS AND WHEREAS THE NATIONWIDE CAMPAIGN STRIVES TO MOBILIZE THE PUBLIC INTO ACTION ON THE ACTING, ON THE ISSUE OF HUNGER AND HELP THE MORE THAN 12 MILLION CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO ARE FOOD INSECURE.
LOCALLY, 1 IN 7 PEOPLE OR 14.2% OF DALLAS COUNTY RESIDENTS AND 1 IN 10 PEOPLE, OR 10.9% OF COLLIN COUNTY RESIDENTS STRUGGLE WITH FOOD INSECURITY AND WHEREAS, IN AN EFFORT TO RAISE AWARENESS AND CURB THIS TREND, SACHSE IS JOINING TOGETHER WITH ALL OF NORTH TEXAS TO PROMOTE AND PARTICIPATE IN THE NORTH TEXAS FOOD BANK'S ANNUAL PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE, EITHER VIRTUALLY OR IN PERSON, WITH THE GOAL OF RAISING 400,000 POUNDS OF PEANUT BUTTER.
NOW, THAT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT AND IT IS, BUT IT'S VERY DOABLE.
I THINK WE'VE DONE THAT EVERY YEAR.
WHEREAS THE RESIDENTS AND PATRONS WITHIN THE CITY OF SACHSE HAVE ALWAYS GIVEN GENEROUSLY AND WITH A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF LOVE TOWARD EFFORTS TAKING CARE OF THOSE IN NEED AND THE SACHSE CITY COUNCIL CALLS.
CALLS SACHSE INTO ACTION TO GET INVOLVED IN EVENTS LIKE THE PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE AND MORE.
NOW THEREFORE, I, JEFF BICKERSTAFF, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SACHSE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER AS HUNGER ACTION MONTH IN SACHSE AND ENCOURAGE ALL RESIDENTS TO JOIN THE SACHSE CITY COUNCIL AND THE NORTH TEXAS FOOD BANK TO HELP ERADICATE HUNGER IN OUR CITY, COUNTIES, STATE AND NATION.

AND SO THIS MOVES FUNDS $140,000 FROM SS-24-19, WHICH IS SEWER, MANHOLE, ODOR AND GAS REMEDIATION, REMEDIATION AND MOVING THAT TO SS-24-21, WHICH IS A NEW PROJECT AND THAT IS MURPHY ROAD SEWER MAIN REPAIR.
SO OVERALL, THAT'S A $0 NET CHANGE.
HOWEVER, IT IS A NEW CAPITAL PROJECT IN THE STREET MAINTENANCE FUND.
SO IN THE CIP THERE WAS A PROJECT.
THEIR BUDGET WAS WAS AUTHORIZED IN PRIOR YEARS.
IT WASN'T ALL SPENT IN THOSE PRIOR YEARS.
IT WAS SPENT IN THIS YEAR AND SO WE'RE JUST REQUESTING THE FUND AUTHORITY TO MATCH THE CIP.

THE FIRST TWO ITEMS THERE ARE FOR FIRE APPARATUS.
