SO FOR THIS WE GOT TEN QUESTION ABOUT THAT, MR. POTTS. IS IT I DON'T KNOW HOW IT WORKS WITH THE CITY, BUT DO THEY GO WITH THE LOWEST BIDDER OR IS THERE OTHER ITEMS THAT ARE INVOLVED? NO, SIR. WE STARTED BACK IN LAST MAY WITH THE PROJECT INITIATION.

WE'VE CURRENTLY WORKED THROUGH THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION AND THE CITYWIDE ELEMENTS THAT RAN FROM AUGUST TO DECEMBER TO THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR.

WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING ON THE DETAILED STUDIES AND THE IMPLEMENTATION STEPS NECESSARY TO MAKE THE VISION COME TO REALITY.

SO JUST AS A REFRESHER, THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION AS WE REFER TO IT IS ESSENTIALLY A VISION STATEMENT, GUIDING PRINCIPLES, AND A LAND USE PLAN THAT ARE ALL USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH ONE ANOTHER TO ACHIEVE THE VISION THAT THIS PROCESS SET OUT TO ACHIEVE. SO JUST AS A REFRESHER, THE VISION IS REALLY THE DESTINATION THAT WE'RE HEADED TOWARDS.

IT'S A REFLECTION OF THE VISION FOR SACHSE 15-20 YEARS FROM NOW, THE DESTINATION THAT WE'RE HEADED TOWARDS, ESSENTIALLY, THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES ARE USED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE MAKING THE RIGHT DECISIONS THROUGHOUT THAT JOURNEY TO ACHIEVE THE VISION.

AND THE LAND USE PLAN IS ESSENTIALLY A REPRESENTATION OF THAT VISION THROUGH ORGANIZED LAND USES.

IT COMMUNICATES THE VISION AND THE INTENT FOR THE FUTURE OF DEVELOPMENT WITHIN THE CITY.

SO THROUGH NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER, WE HAD A SURVEY THAT ASKED FOR FEEDBACK ON THE INITIAL FINDINGS OR INITIAL SWING AT THE VISION STATEMENT AND GUIDING PRINCIPLES.

THAT WAS OPEN FOR A MONTH. WE GOT ABOUT JUST SHORT OF 100 COMMENTS ONLINE.

PEOPLE GAVE FEEDBACK ON THE VISION STATEMENT GUIDING PRINCIPLES YOU'LL SEE IN YOUR PACKETS.

THERE'S A MORE DETAILED PRESENTATION THAT GIVES FEEDBACK ON THE VISION STATEMENT AND EACH GUIDING PRINCIPLE.

SOME OF THE FEEDBACK THAT WE GOT. SO IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, WE CAN REVISIT THAT AT THE END.

BUT I'M NOT GOING TO BELABOR THE POINT RIGHT NOW.

AND WE CRAFTED THAT TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY COMMENTS AND PREFERENCES THAT WERE EXPRESSED THROUGHOUT THE SURVEY.

SO IT'S REALLY INCORPORATING A FOCUS ON HIGH QUALITY INFRASTRUCTURE AND AMENITIES, AS WELL AS MAINTAINING SACHSE'S SENSE OF COMMUNITY AND CHARM.

THOSE WERE THE TWO THINGS THAT REALLY CAME THROUGH THAT WEREN'T SHINING IN THE ORIGINAL VISION STATEMENT.

SO YOU'LL SEE THE FINAL STATEMENT THERE. AND LIKE I MENTIONED, THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES.

THERE'S DETAILED INFORMATION WITHIN THE PACKET, BUT THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES THAT ARE UNDERLINED QUALITY OF LIFE, RECREATION AND OPPORTUNITY. ALL WERE AMENDED FROM THEIR ORIGINAL FORM BASED ON THE FEEDBACK THAT WE GOT.

THERE WAS FEEDBACK PROVIDED ON ALL THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES, BUT IN MOST INSTANCES, IT WAS GENERAL AGREEMENT AND CONSENSUS ON WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY PRESENTED. SO THEY WERE UNCHANGED. SO A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE CITYWIDE VISION AND THE ELEMENTS THAT WE'VE BEEN WORKING ON. THE BIGGEST ELEMENT OF THAT, AND A MAJOR COMPONENT OF THE STRATEGIC DIRECTION, IS THE FUTURE LAND USE PLAN.

SO YOU'LL SEE ON THE LEFT WE HAVE THE 2017 FUTURE LAND USE PLAN.

AND ON THE RIGHT WE HAVE THE UPDATED FUTURE LAND USE PLAN FOR THE SHAPING SACHSE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.

YOU'LL ALSO NOTICE SOME AREAS THAT ARE CIRCLED WITH THE RED DASHED LINE ARE AREAS THAT HAVE CHANGED.

THERE ARE A FEW OTHER MINOR CHANGES THROUGHOUT THE DIAGRAM, BUT THOSE ARE SOME OF THE BIG CHANGES THAT WE WANTED TO DISCUSS, OR AT LEAST BRING YOUR ATTENTION TO THROUGH THIS PROCESS.

SO STARTING IN THE FAR NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE CITY, NEAR WOODBRIDGE AND NORTH OF RANCH ROAD, THE INTERSECTION OF CODY LANE, ACTUALLY THERE WAS A LARGE PARCEL PREVIOUSLY DESIGNATED AS RESIDENTIAL, WHICH IS NOW DESIGNATED AS COMMERCIAL. IT'S ADJACENT TO THE WALMART, AND WE THINK THAT THERE IS GREAT POTENTIAL FOR COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT THERE.

COMMERCIAL DEVELOPMENT THAT COULD SUPPORT THE EXISTING NEIGHBORHOODS IN THE AREA AND CONTINUE THE MOMENTUM OF DEVELOPMENT ALONG WOODBRIDGE.

MOVING A LITTLE BIT FURTHER, WE MAKE SURE THE RIGHT HAND SIDE THIS IS, IF YOU WILL, THIS IS PROPOSED.

NONE OF THIS HAS HAPPENED YET. NOTHING'S HAPPENED IN BETWEEN. THIS IS PROPOSED.

AND I BELIEVE IT'S SINGLE FAMILY URBAN RESIDENTIAL HAS BEEN AMENDED TO REFLECT RANCH PARK VILLAGE AND THE LINDEN MULTIFAMILY DEVELOPMENT. SO PART OF THAT CHANGE IS TO REFLECT WHAT'S ACTUALLY THERE WITH THE MULTIFAMILY.

WE'RE STILL MAINTAINING THE NEIGHBORHOOD RETAIL COMMERCIAL ALONG RANCH ROAD AND 78.

AND WE SPEND TIME REEVALUATING THOSE LAND USES AND THEN BREAKING UP EVEN THE COMMERCIAL AREAS AND SPECIFIC SORT OF CHARACTER AREAS, SO WE CAN THINK ABOUT HOW TO APPLY THOSE DIFFERENTLY IN AN APPROPRIATE SORT OF CONTEXT SENSITIVE WAY.
