AND OUT OF THAT WAS BORN THE CULTURE COMMITTEE, AND THAT HAPPENED IN 2022. AND IT WAS REALLY DESIGNED TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN LEADERSHIP AND STAFF AND TO HAVE HARD BUT IMPORTANT CONVERSATIONS. AND SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE CULTURE COMMITTEE, THEY HAVE HELPED INFLUENCE POLICY UPDATES THAT ULTIMATELY HAVE BOOSTED MORALE AND REDUCED TURNOVER. AND SO, BEING IN THE POSITION OF AN IMPROVED CULTURE, IT MADE SENSE THAT DEFINING CORE VALUES WAS THE NEXT NATURAL STEP AS THE CULTURE WAS REALLY STARTING TO TAKE SHAPE. AND I'LL HAND IT OVER TO ESTHER TO TALK ABOUT OUR PROCESS.

THEY'RE GOING TO HELP OUT WITH SOME FIRE INSPECTION STUFF. AND THEN THE FAITH BASED ORGANIZATION TRYING TO MAKE SURE ALL THE INFORMATION FOR THAT GROUP IS ACCURATE AND THERE ARE GOING TO BE AT CITY EVENTS, YOU'LL SEE THEM DOING THAT.
THEY PUT IN 246 HOURS THIS YEAR. SO, FOR THE MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT ON THIS. THE FIRE LIEUTENANTS WERE RECLASSIFIED TO FIRE CAPTAINS, WHICH MEETS THE INDUSTRY NORM.
WE HAD 17 INDIVIDUALS THAT GOT NEW CERTIFICATIONS OR UPGRADED THEIR OWN.
AND THEN WE ADDED 42 AEDS TO THE THE CITY. THESE ARE IN VEHICLES FACILITIES.
THAT'S. SIGNIFICANT. AND THEN OF COURSE, WE DID CLASS NUMBER FOUR FOR THE CITIZENS FIRE ACADEMY.
WE GOT THE NEW AMBULANCE. WE GOT THE NEW TYPE THREE FIRE ENGINE.
WE CALL IT THE WUI. I DON'T KNOW IF Y'ALL. IT'S THE WILDLAND URBAN INTERFACE ENGINE.
IT'S WUI. SO, ENGINE TYPE THREE SOUNDS GOOD. AND WE TRAINED SEVERAL CITY EMPLOYEES WITH ICS FOR THIS EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TRAINING. AND WE'RE DOING ONGOING STRATEGIC PLANNING IN THE DEPARTMENT.
OUR VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATIONS, THEY CONTINUE TO GROW.
AND THEN THOSE OUTDOOR WARNING SIRENS AND PARK SPEAKERS.
WHAT'S NEXT? WELL, I KEEP TRYING TO GROW AND PURSUE THE FIRE PREVENTION AREA.
FIRE STATION TWO REMODEL AND DESIGN. WE'RE EVALUATING THAT FIRE STATION THREE.
WE'RE EVALUATING THE NEED FOR THAT. THE ONE THING THAT WE HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN IT COMES TO FIRE STATION THREE IS IT WOULD REQUIRE ADDITIONAL PERSONNEL, AND WE NEED TO TAKE CARE OF FIRE STATION ONE AND FIRE STATION TWO BEFORE WE LAUNCH OFF INTO A THIRD FIRE STATION.
IT'S A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ANIMAL. SO BUT THOSE ARE ON THE RADAR AND A TRAINING FACILITY.
AND FOR A LADDER TRUCK UP TO FOUR YEARS. SO, WE HAVE TO GET STARTED PLANNING AND MOVING FORWARD WITH AT LEAST AN AMBULANCE AND THAT LADDER TRUCK FOR THAT ELEMENT. WE'VE GOT OUR ISO ONE WE'RE LOOKING AT.
